“Through the process of documenting Yeji’s life, she reminisces and share with others.”
Yeji Jeon’s work unfolds like a visual diary, capturing fleeting moments that may otherwise fade in the rush of daily life. Having lived in the United States, Korea, and the United Kingdom, she explores identity through cultural immersion and personal storytelling. Her paintings often feature bold flowers—symbols of growth and resilience—rooted in different places and blooming uniquely in each.
With vibrant colours and delicate details, she transforms ordinary memories into meaningful stories, creating artworks that feel intimate yet universally resonant.
Her practice is an act of gratitude and sharing: a celebration of small wonders in everyday life, and a quiet encouragement for new beginnings and deeper connection.
Yeji Jeon (b. 1993, Seoul, Korea) is a London-based artist who earned her BFA in Illustration Design from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, USA, and her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London.
She has held five solo exhibitions, including Andaz Seoul Gangnam Hotel, Jongdong 1928 Art Center, M Gallery, and has participated in more than 10 group exhibitions in the United States, France, China, and Seoul, and about 12 national and international art fairs in the United States, London, Hong Kong, and Korea.
In addition to her exhibitions, she collaborated with Andaz Seoul Gangnam Hotel on a three-year project for their Bites & Wine Afternoon Tea Set (2021–2023), further showcasing her ability to bridge fine art with lifestyle and branding.
About Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop and the Workshop Foundation:
Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop is an exhibition and residency space in London and unique in its approach to bringing artists and their practices to the public. They support a diverse range of emerging and mid-career contemporary artists by providing them with space and time to develop their practice, network within our growing community, be mentored by team members and crucially be introduced to their expansive network of collectors, art educators, professionals and visitors.
Through their residency programmes and exhibitions, they give artists, curators and theorists a platform to present work and share ideas as well as creating an environment for freethinking and exchange.
They have now organised more than 40 exhibitions with over 120 artists and curators, with 10 exhibitions and 25 artists in residence a year, drawing in international audiences and participants, as well as being a local landmark in the community of Kensington and Chelsea and its surrounds.
Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop was founded in 2015 by artist Stacie McCormick in a former builder’s merchant.
